Me: now and recently

I run lanka.tax, an online platform helping individuals pay the least tax possible, 100% legally, 100% online. We are launching developsrilanka.com, a platform to facilitate growth of service exports. I am now raising capital for an AI startup which aims to improve access to credit from SMFIs while performing training to increase awareness of the potential of AI.
I enjoy practicing yoga, meditation and learning about self improvement.
In March 2020, we launched lankaloan.com, a bi-lingual website which assisted with loan relief or moratoriums during the COVID19 lockdowns in 8 days. My focus is on delivering finance related solutions as efficiently as possible, using automation and AI. I have many AI certificates from IBM and Google.

My History

I am an Engineering dropout from the University of Cambridge, UK. I interned at PwC straight after this, which peaked my interest in Finance. I became a AICPA-CIMA member in 2008 and went on to complete CIM and a Master of Laws (UWL).
I've worked for 20 years in corporate finance and performance improvement for public listed companies and private companies. I served as the Executive Director of the second Dockyard in Sri Lanka, which secured approval for ADB equity funding in 2017 and debt in 2018. I was also the Head of Corporate Finance of the parents company raising these funds.
Over the past decade, I have raised over US$ 200 Million for Sri Lankan companies and infrastructure projects, with the single largest transaction being ($)105 Million - a Murabaha repurposed for long term infrastructure financing from the EXIM Bank of Malaysia. Other funding was sourced from local and foreign Commercial Banks, Capital Markets, and multilateral agencies like the ADB.
